The New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services evaluates outpatient chemical dependency treatment programs every year. In 2010, CSEDNY’s five programs helped in the following ways:
- Almost half the New Yorkers who start a CSEDNY program complete it or are referred to a more appropriate program.
- Four out of five men and women who completed treatment discontinue their use of drugs and/or alcohol.
- Almost half of CSEDNY’s clients who completed treatment maintain full-time employment or improved their employment status.
- Fewer program participants are rearrested, with a 70% reduction in arrests after six months of treatment.
